【米ロサンゼルス２７日（日本時間２８日）＝箱崎宏子】嵐の松本潤（２４）が主演する黒澤明監督の名作をリメークした映画「隠し砦の三悪人 ＴＨＥ ＬＡＳＴ ＰＲＩＮＣＥＳＳ」（樋口真嗣監督、５月１０日公開）のプレミアイベント試写会が巨匠ジョージ・ルーカス監督の母校、南カリフォルニア大学（ＵＳＣ）で行われた。上映前に英語であいさつした松本は、作品の好感触を得て感激。「チャンスがあったらぜひ」と“米国進出”に意欲を見せた。

「ジュン！」。午後６時５分ごろ、松本が登場すると黄色い声援が飛び交い、会場もヒートアップ。５０年ぶりに甦ったリメーク作に“ロスッ子”も沸いた。
イベント試写会は、ＵＳＣ内にあるエレン・ノリス・シアターで開催。同大映画芸術学部卒のルーカス監督が、黒澤監督のオリジナル作品にヒントを得て「スター・ウォーズ」を製作した縁で実現した。
同大の学生２００人を含む３００人が来場。外には抽選に漏れた１００人の姿もあった。試写会には松本や樋口監督のほか「スター・ウォーズ」でＣ３ＰＯ役を演じたアンソニー・ダニエルズ氏（６３）が特別ゲストで登場し、大いに盛り上げた。
上映前、英語で「伝統ある南カリフォルニア大学での試写会に参加できたことを非常に誇りに思います」と緊張気味にあいさつした松本だが、上映が始まると随所に笑いや拍手が沸き起こる会場に、自然と笑みがこぼれた。「最初に立ち上がって『Ｙｅｓ！』って言いたくなるぐらいっていうか。皆さんがどう受け取ってくださるかドキドキしましたが、すごくうれしかった」と大感激だ。
戦乱の世に姫と軍資金を守り敵中を突破する侍と山の民の活躍を描く冒険活劇。上映後には会場と質疑応答も行い、文化交流も図った。今回の好感触を得て松本は「本場でいいリアクションをもらえたのは、アクションエンターテインメントのジャンルで、日本がハイクオリティーなものを作れることを証明できたからではないか」と自信をのぞかせた。
配給の東宝によると、作品はすでにタイ、台湾での公開が決定（公開時期は調整中）。北米、欧州は交渉中という。
作品の世界規模の公開も期待されるなか、松本は、“米国進出”について「未定ですが、面白い本、面白いスタッフの方々とやらせていただけるのであれば、言葉の壁や文化の違いを乗り越えて、チャンスがあればぜひやってみたい」。英語力アップも誓い、ワールドワイドな活躍に大乗り気だった。
★米国にもファンクラブ、メンバー３６人駆け付ける
米国には独自で立ち上げた数千人規模の嵐ファンクラブがある。その名も、ＴＢＳ系「社会科ナゾ解明ＴＶ ひみつのアラシちゃん！」からネーミングした「ＡＲＡＳＨＩ Ｓｅｃｒｅｔ Ａｇｅｎｃｙ」で、約１カ月前に結成。この日の試写会にもメンバー３６人が駆けつけた。松本が出演したドラマ「花より男子」が現地で放送されたのを機にファンが急増。ラスベガスから来た代表のディステニー・ジェイソンさん（１９）は「嵐は面白くてセクシーでエンターテイナー。ファンをとても大切にする」とゾッコンだ。松本は「海外でも自分たちの作品が認知され、大きな驚きと大きなうれしさがあります。何か形にしてお返しできれば」と話していた。
■南カルフォルニア大学映画芸術学部
１９２９年に南カリフォルニア大学と映画芸術科学アカデミーのコラボレーションにより設立。開設にともない、映画学の学士号を授与する全米で最初の大学となった。生存する卒業生は１万人を超えており、各分野のトップで活躍。アカデミー賞など各賞で数多くの受賞者を輩出している。映画監督では、ジョージ・ルーカスのほか、「ビューティフル・マインド」のロン・ハワード、「フォレスト・ガンプ／一期一会」のロバート・ゼメキス、「愛と青春の旅立ち」のテイラー・ハックフォード、「Ｘ・メン」のブライアン・シンガーら。

There is an independent [Arashi] Fan Club in America, consisting of several thousand members. The group, named "Arashi Secret Agency" which was derived from the TBS social variety program, "Himitsu no Arashi-chan", was formed about one month ago. On the day of the premiere, 36 members from the group were in attendance. Fan numbers significantly increased after Matsumoto Jun's "Hana Yori Dango" was aired locally. Destini Jason(19) [please correct me if I got the name wrong], the group's representative from Las Vegas, said "Arashi is a funny, sexy group of entertainers. They care about their fans a lot." Matsumoto Jun said later, "I'm very surprised and happy that our work is known [and recognised] overseas. I'd like to do something [for the foreign fans] in return [for their support]."

I've read about the Arashi secret agency, too, and I was acutally pretty surprised to know that there was such a group in the US!
I knew Arashi was pretty popular and all, but I had no idea there was actually a fan club, even though it is unofficial.
I am a Japanese girl, who has lived in the US for over 13 years now.
I have loved Arashi from even before they became Arashi.
I don't have any friends over here who loves Arashi, so i would love to get to know you more, and if I could I would like to be a part of Arashi secret agency, too!
